Cherrytown

Cherrytown (pop. 19 000) is a town situated approx. 50 miles from Chicago, on the Tuppahoola ridge near Lake Mush. Cherrytown is well known for its many lakes and clear drinking water. In 1957, Cherrytown had the clearest water in the whole US. The famous boxer Roy Jay Jensen who won the world champion title four times in his career is also born in Cherrytown.


In 1976 "the king of rock and roll" or Elvis Aaron Presley, visited Cherrytown under the 1976 Great Pie Contest Elvis reached over the gold medal to Mrs. Rankin, and sang to her aswell.
